How can we really compare the two biggest Mediterranean Heavyweights in one class? Well we are certainly going to try by unpacking all the similarities and difference of ITALY vs SPAIN in this edition of our wine education series.
Advanced Sommelier - Julie Defriend is going to help our very own John Grisanti tackle this robust subject. Together they will be going deep into some of the most important sun soaked regions of the wine world. We will learn about the wine making history, viticultural style and geographical features that have created two of the world's most popular wine cultures as we sip through the defining wines that have shaped both countries.

Germany is an often over looked landscape, except for those in the know! Their most prestigious grape, Riesling, is equally misunderstood but beloved amongst the experts.
Our owner and beverage director, John Grisanti, just returned from a 5 day journey down the Rhine river, the main artery that funnels through the great terroirs of the Germany. He visited some of the most legendary producers in several key regions on his epic quest.
In this wine class he's going to de-mystify the RIESLING varietal and share the stories from his trip with so many amazing wine makers as we taste through the wines they produce!

We are excited to announce our 4th annual - “Riesling Riders” festival. This year we are teaming up with the greatest importer of German wines in the USA - @VomBoden to do an entire wine list take over!
Join us on Sunday - June 14th 2026 @ 1pm to celebrate this absolutely incredible grape varietal that is often misunderstood. We can hardly contain ourselves in being able to host the return of @khaoboys , the legendary Thai pop up from our friend @beardfoundation award nominated chef @noam_bilitzer and his brilliant @MeeshMeesh_Med_lou team! It has been a long time coming and it may be obvious but Thai cuisine with Riesling might be one of the greatest pairings ever created in human history! As always we also have the crazy dudes from @squeeze_bot playing their glorious polka-jazzed spiked pop hits!
Our friends from @VomBoden are letting us go deep into their cellar to lasso all the crazy goodies back to Kentucky. We love working with the passionate people to bring incredible producers here to the Louisville community at Nouvelle. @VomBoden is the most important importer of German wines in the USA. With the help of our distribution partners @winecraftwine we are going to bring an epic spread of wine!

We are stoked to announce that the legendary Finger Lakes producer, @forgecellars is rolling up to Nouvelle for a great evening of libations and story telling! Owner and wine maker @RickRainey is going to be slinging his wines and posting up at the bar with us for one stellar night!

@forgecellars is a benchmark producer in the Finger Lakes region of New York that sets a standard of quality for this very overlooked American appellation.
We will have a special menu of various veins and flights available that evening with @RickRainey on hand to drop some deep knowledge.

We are super excited to announce that the impeccable Champagne producer @champagnemichelgonet is coming to Nouvelle to bring bountiful joy to all of the residents of Louisville. Our friend Diane Gonet, the current custodian of the family domaine, will be jetting to town for an epic one night only party!
Join us on Saturday - June 6th @ 5pm to throw it down as we always do!
This Champagne house can trace its history back to the 15th century right in the heart of the iconic chalk soaked soils of the Cote Des Blancs. They produce pure beautiful and elegant expressions of Champagne. We will have a special assortment of their different cuvees, including some BIG BOTTLES to pour by the glass all night long!

As you know, we are totally obsessed with Champagne! We have a “Completely Irresponsible” and award-winning Champagne list plus our owner John Grisanti is the only CHAMPAGNE MASTER (French Wine Scholar Guild) in Kentucky.
Now we are taking that obsession to new absurdities in our program by launching “TUESDAY TOASTS”
Starting in October we will be picking a different cuvee of Champagne from our favorite producers to pour by the glass every Tuesday! You heard us right! CHAMPAGNE BY THE GLASS – EVERY TUESDAY!
It is going to be an incredible way to try an ever-evolving selection of terroir expressions and house styles. Trust us when we say there won’t be any duds in these picks and we are bound to pull some pretty silly out right bangers along the way!

BIG BOTTLE THURSDAYS
You know we love big bottles and we cannot lie …
Starting in October we decided to let the weekend start early, so every Thursday we will popping a fresh MAGNUM to pour by the glass.
Some things are just more fun in a large format and our big bottle selections are bound to get wild. Thursday will be an excellent way to try some really special wines that aren’t always available at Nouvelle and certainly will be a blast to pour for ya!
